2019 Steamroller Festival

Go ahead and mark your calendars for the 2019 Steamroller Festival for Saturday, April 27th, 2019! Our Steamroller Festival is our largest community event of the year, bringing hundreds of people from all over to the Deep Deuce District of Oklahoma City. This one day festival is rooted in the printing of large-scale woodblocks carved by local Oklahoma artists! We’ll have artist vendors, food trucks and live music throughout the day!

It is sure to be a fun, art-filled day with live music, food, artist vendors and community supporting and exhibiting Oklahoma artists.

Solarplate Etching with Wendy Fox

Learn about Solarplates in our studio on March 30th from 1 - 4 PM ! Solarplates were developed as a nontoxic alternative to traditional etching processes. It is a simple, safer and faster approach than traditional etching and relief printing. This process does not use grounds, acids or solvents. The plates are exposed to UV light and developed with ordinary tap water.

This wood block workshop is taught by Artspace’s Education Director, Alexa Goetzinger! This workshop kicks off our Steamroller Festival open studio Saturdays. With this discounted rate of $40 you will learn the art of woodblock printing while carving and printing your own small wood block in a manageable three hours! If you can complete this workshop, there’s no doubt you can do the Steamroller Festival too! All supplies will be provided - just come with a drawn image (or one in mind) that you’d want to print with your block!

Suminagashi or “floating ink” is the Japanese process of marbling plain paper with water and ink to transform it into something vibrant and colorful. It originated in Japan as early as the 12th century, and continues to be a fun and easy process that lends spectacular results.

Oklahoma Film Fest: "Mono" Screening

Artspace at Untitled is partnering with the OK Film Society in the first annual Oklahoma Film Fest in December! As part of the three-day event, we will be screening the local anthology film “Mono” on Saturday, December 15th at 2:30 PM. The film tells the story of one day in the life of the female protagonist Molly in five sections. Each section is unique, directed by a different local filmmaker. Throughout the evening guests will be entertained with Topher Owen’s comedy troupe, listen to music from our featured musicians and have the opportunity to submit questions throughout the interviews. Our short film program is back on Thursday, November 1st from 6:00-7:30pm! Join in the conversation as we screen shorts in collaboration with Alex Palmer, from the Oklahoma Film Society. All shorts will contain sound but no dialogue from the characters. This alternative approach to film will certainly evoke a night of interpretation, interesting conversation and dialogue.
