ARTSPACE at Untitled is proud to present its Second Annual Mentorship Exhibition featuring original works by this year's Mentorship Program students.
With a creative, multidisciplinary curriculum, the Mentorship Program transforms high school students' live through art.
In a three year period, over 100 students individually work in our studio and are guided by professional artists. Once a month from 8:30am to 3:30pm, each student learns about, develops, and creates art with our Education Director and artists who serve as program mentors.
This program is a working incubator for students hungry to express their creativity in a multitude of disciplines, from creating prints to producing digital art. Many students extend their time at ARTSPACE beyond monthly visits, utilizing spring, winter, and summer breaks to intern at ARTSPACE and work on their art pieces.
Our 2017-2018 students have worked diligently throughout the school year to complete their projects for this juried exhibition. To prepare, students analyze their work through peer critiques and artist statements. They also determine a value for their work to be sold in the gallery, as they would for a professional exhibition.
The mentorship exhibition takes place during youth arts month, which advocates and encourages quality visual arts education for all children.
