Monotype Workshop with Adrienne Day

Participants will learn how to create a monotype print on paper with one of the fine untitled etching presses in the studio. The possibilities are endless and participants will have time to create several monotypes.

Monotypes are prints that are unique, sometimes painterly, and capable of many approaches. Ink is applied to a flat plate with a brush or brayer and can be manipulated with erasure, templates, layering, pressed textures, or collage. Finally, the plate is printed on paper with one of the workshop’s fine untitled etching presses.

Participants should bring ideas for their images, an apron, and a roll of paper towels.

This workshop is limited to 10 participants.
