GEORGE BOGART'S EXHIBIT GARDEN CHRONICLES FEATURED WORKS INSPIRED BY HIS PASSION FOR NATURE'S PROCESS OF BUDDING AND GROWING. ALL OF THE WORKS FEATURED IN THE EXHIBIT WERE FROM HIS GARDEN CHRONICLES SERIES OF 2001 AND 2002.
"My paintings are not literal re-creations, stories, or descriptive likenesses of my subjects. They are mental collages of my environment: the wind, light, color, and shapes I see around me everyday. Who can say where an idea comes from, but when combined with paint and color the shapes begin to take on a life of their own and I try to nurture that as best I can. The allusion to landscape space is intentional but I am more interested in the things I often see in my peripheral vision rather than in any particular place or specific object. My gardens are not taken from real subjects but are a remembered vision or experience, combined with the events and activity of daily life."
