Experimental Screen Printing with Virginia Sitzes

IMG_1092.JPG

Join us on Saturday, February 10th from 10am-4pm for an immersive Experimental Screen Printing workshop by local artist and [Press] member Virginia Sitzes!

In this workshop, Virginia will lead an exploration in the process of using different materials to create unique designs that will be used for screen-printing. Participants will experiment with material such as watercolor, paint pens, various types of inks, bleach, and even mascara! This process allows for a free-flowing playful environment which is great for beginners and experienced printers alike. If you've ever been interested in the process of screen printing but haven't had the time or materials to go for it, this workshop is for you.

Attendees will leave with a basic knowledge of screen printing, and several of their own printed designs. We encourage you to take the Monotype Workshop on Saturday, Feb. 3rd as a precursor to this workshop, but it is not required.

All tools and materials are provided. Participants are also welcome to bring any fabric that they would like to print such as t-shirts, aprons, pillowcases, or tote bags. Please bring a lunch or snacks as this is an all-day workshop. Open to ages 14 and older.
