In this 4-day class, 9 –14-year-olds will be introduced to relief printmaking through exploration of subtraction in Styrofoam, carving stamps, and hand printing on fabrics.  After the basics in relief printmaking are covered, kids will learn traditional single-color linocut and progress to creating a 2-color reduction relief print with instructor Michelle Canning. Kids will gain experience in a professional print studio and learn skills they can use at home to create art. Throughout the class, kids will hear from a working artist and take trips to explore Factory Obscura. Each day’s class will be from 9 am - 3 pm; breakfast and lunch are provided. Registration is $200 per child.
