An in-person drawing workshop led by Claire Holloway
Learn to compose engaging still lifes and bolster your drawing skills! In this one-day workshop with Oklahoma City artist Claire Holloway, you’ll learn the fundamentals of good design, effective mark-making, and how to tackle any still life set in front of you.
We will explore how a still life can be far more than just a bowl of fruit in this class. We will investigate different textures, sizes, surfaces, and motifs in our drawings. Students will work from a still life created with Artspace at Untitled’s private collection of objects and choose their part of the still life to work from.
Claire will demonstrate how to arrange, plan, and create an atheistically pleasing and effective still life. We will be working with charcoal in this course, so please feel free to bring your own tools, but charcoal, paper, and kneaded erasers will be provided. All participants will leave with their very own still life!
ARTSPACE provides free and easy parking at our rear entrance. Please enter through the large garage door and help yourself to the main gallery where the class is taught. Feel free to use our studio fridge to store snacks or drinks.
